Police charge teens over stabbing - Prairiewood

Two teenagers have been charged following an alleged stabbing in Sydney's west last week.

About 5.30pm (Saturday 3 April 2021), emergency services were called to the showground on Smithfield Road, Prairiewood, where they found a 20-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Police will allege the youths, both aged 17, spoke to the man before punching and stabbing him, and then fleeing the scene.

The man was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Following extensive inquiries, a 17-year-old boy was arrested at Cabramatta Police Station about 8:45pm (Sunday 4 April 2021).

A short time later, officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command arrested a second 17-year-old boy at a home in St Johns Park.

Both were taken to Fairfield Police Station where they were each charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

They've refused bail and are due to appear before a children's court today (Monday 5 April 2021).
