Police charge three over drug offences, Upper Coomera

Police have charged three people with serious drug offences, following the execution of two search warrants at Upper Coomera yesterday morning.

Around 7.15am, detectives from Gold Coast CIB attended an address on Stephens Street, where they allegedly located cannabis, drug utensils, electric scales, a grinder and knuckledusters.

A 20-year-old Upper Coomera woman was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drug and possessing drug utensils.

A 20-year-old Upper Coomera man was charged with one count of possessing drug utensils.

Both are scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on July 1.

Around 10.40am, police attended a residence on Filbert Street where they allegedly located steroids, approximately 500 grams of cannabis, approximately $1850 cash and drug utensils.

A 28-year-old Upper Coomera man was charged with one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs, permitting use of place, possessing property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of a drug offence and possessing drug utensils and three counts of possessing dangerous drugs.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on June 27.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith from Gold Coast CIB says officers will continue to be unrelenting in their efforts to stamp out drug supply.

"These arrests typify ongoing efforts to target those involved in drug crime, particularly those who supply to the vulnerable members of the community" DI Smith said.

Investigations are continuing.
