Police charge three over fight at correctional facility in Sydney's east

Three men have been charged over their involvement in a fight at a correctional facility in Sydney's east earlier this year.

Police will allege the men, aged 30, 26 and 20, assaulted a man during a brawl in a yard of the correctional facility about 11.30pm on Monday (8 June 2020).

The 30-year-old allegedly then went on to assault a second man.

During this time, a number of fights broke out across two yards of the facility before correctional officers contained the situation.

Detectives from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, police yesterday (Wednesday 9 September) charged the three men with affray.

The 20-year-old is due to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday 23 September 2020.

The other two men are due to appear before Waverley Local Court on Tuesday 27 October 2020.

Investigations continue.
