Police charge three teens after pursuit - Wolli Creek

Three teenage boys will appear in court today charged following a pursuit with police in Sydney's south-west overnight.

Just after 12.00am (Wednesday 12 January 2022), officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command were patrolling the Ruse area, when they observed a Volkswagen Golf travelling on Junction Road, at speed.

Checks revealed the vehicle had reportedly been stolen from Bondi Junction in December.

The Volkswagen failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated before being terminated shortly after due to safety concerns.

PolAir located the vehicle as it travelled along the M5, exiting at King Georges Road, Beverly Hills, where it continued driving through numerous streets and suburbs before entering the car park at Sydney International Airport.

The Volkswagen continued driving west towards Wolli Creek, coming to a stop on Brodie Sparks Drive.

The three occupants fled on foot towards Wolli Creek Railway Station and were seen entering the rail corridor and run towards Tempe Railway Station, where they boarded a train.

Officers from St George Police Area Command responded and stopped the train at Arncliffe Railway Station, where the occupants - three boys, aged 15, 16 and 17 - were arrested.

The Volkswagen was seized for forensic examination.

The teens were taken to Kogarah Police Station where they were all charged with be carried in conveyance and go onto or into or remain on or in running lines.

They were all refused bail and will appear before a children's court later today (Wednesday 12 January 2022).
