Police charge two after affray - Harris Park

Two men have been charged as investigations continue into a brawl in Sydney's west last week.

About 10.10pm on Friday (28 August 2020), police were called to Wigram Street, Harris Park, following reports of a large group of men fighting.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command, assisted by Cumberland Police Area Command and the Operations Support Group, dispersed the group.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated one man, aged 33, for minor head injuries after he was punched and knocked to the ground. No other injuries were reported.

Following inquiries and a public appeal, investigators arrested a 33-year-old man at Parramatta Police Station just before 4pm today (Monday 31 August 2020).

The Campsie man was charged with affray, use carriage service to menace/harass/offend, and publicly threatening or inciting violence.

Investigators also arrested a 30-year-old man at a Jordan Springs home just after 6pm.

He was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, and common assault.

Both men were granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 7 October 2020.

As investigations continue, police are conducting high-visibility proactive patrols of the area and appealing for anyone with information, or who was in the area at the time, to come forward.
