Police charge two after burglary in Mount Waverley

Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two people following an alleged burglary in Mount Waverley yesterday.

Police responded to reports of an alleged burglary at a commercial business on Gilby Road about 4.10am.

An allegedly stolen white Mitsubishi Express van was seen driving away from the premises.

With assistance from the Air Wing, the car was followed through Burwood, Surrey Hills, Camberwell, Nunawading, Box Hill North, Blackburn North and Ringwood.

It came to a stop on Ringwood Street in Ringwood where officers arrested a man and a woman.

A 43-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with:

• Burglary

• Criminal damage

• Theft

• Theft of motor vehicle

• Handle stolen goods

• Fail to stop on police direction

• Dangerous driving whilst pursued by police

A 31-year-old Sandringham woman has been charged with:

• Burglary

• Criminal damage

• Theft

• Theft of motor vehicle

The pair were bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates' Court on 30 October.
