A man and a woman will face court after drugs were seized in the state's west today.
About 1.30am today (Monday 8 September 2025), officers attached to Central West Police District patrolling on Newell Highway, Alec Town, approximately 24km north of Parkes, when they stopped a sedan for random testing.
The driver – a 35-year-old man – was subjected to a roadside breath test and drug test, which both allegedly returned positive results.
Police conducted a search and seized about 266g of methylamphetamine, 77g of cocaine and 17g of methamphetamine along with a radar from the vehicle.
The driver and his passenger – a 33-year-old woman – were taken to Parkes Police Station where a secondary sample was obtained from the man and sent for further analysis.
The man was charged with supply prohibited drug more than or equal to commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity, and possess prohibited drug (three counts).
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 today (Monday 8 September 2025), where he was refused bail to appear at Forbes Local Court on Thursday 6 November 2025.
The woman was charged with possess prohibited drug and possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs.
She was granted conditional bail to appear at Finley Local Court on Tuesday 28 October 2025.
