Two men will appear in court today charged as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney's south and south west.
In May this year, detectives from St George Police Area Command established Strike Force Trute to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs, including methylamphetamine, heroin and gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), across the local area.
To date, seven people have been charged with various offences – including drug supply – and remain before the courts.
Following further inquiries, strike force officers arrested two men – aged 31 and 39 – at a licensed premises on Parramatta Road, Homebush West, about 9.20am yesterday (Thursday 29 December 2022).
After the arrests, two search warrants were subsequently executed at homes in Hurstville and Kingsgrove.
During the searches, police seized telecommunications devices, drug paraphernalia, credit card reading devices and prohibited drugs.
The items will undergo forensic examination.
Two men were taken to Auburn Police Station, where the younger man from Hurstville was charged with supply prohibited drug indictable & commercial quantity – 6 counts, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis – 3 counts, supply prohibited drug small & indictable quantity, supply prohibited drug small quantity, knowingly direct activities of criminal group and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
The older man from Kingsgrove was charged with participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and supply prohibited drug indictable and commercial quantity.
Both men were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 30 December 2022).
Investigations under Strike Force Trute continue.
