Police charge two after Mount Waverley search warrant

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit has arrested a man in relation to deception matters that date back to 2017.

The incidents are alleged to have taken place in Lilydale in August 2017, and Bonbeach in March 2019.

Detectives executed a search warrant in Mount Waverley on 13 May and seized both cash and $50,000 worth of high end clothing items.

The 27-year-old Irish national was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with possess proceeds of crime and obtain property by deception.

He was also charged in relation to Migration Act offences that occurred in November 2018 and April 2019.

He has been remanded and will appear in Frankston Magistrates' Court on 5 June.

A 28-year-old Irish national woman was also arrested at the scene and has since been charged with money laundering offences.

She will appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 6 June.

Police would like to take the opportunity to remind the community to check the credentials of trades people, especially if their approach is unsolicited.
