Two men have been charged following a strike force investigation into the supply of illicit drugs in the Wollongong area.
Detectives from Wollongong Police District established Strike Force Fame in May 2020, to investigate the supply of 'ice' from a business in Wollongong CBD.
Following extensive inquiries, shortly after 10am, investigators attended a bicycle repair store on Church Street, Wollongong, and arrested a 48-year-old man.
A short time later, a second man – aged 55 – was arrested on Carr Street, Towradgi.
Both men were taken to Wollongong Police Station.
With the assistance of the Dog Unit and Wollongong PD Proactive Crime Team, strike force investigators executed a search warrant at the business, seizing prohibited weapons and number plates believed to be stolen.
These items will undergo forensic examination.
The 48-year-old man was charged with 11 counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
The 55-year-old man was charged with 16 counts of supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, six counts of never licensed person drive on road and organise/conduct/assist drug premises.
The pair were refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 10 October 2020).
Inquiries are continuing.
