Police charge two following firearms incidents south of Melbourne

Port Phillip and Hobson's Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged two people following an investigation into firearms incidents in Melbourne's southern suburbs yesterday morning.

A number of shots were allegedly fired into a car on Grosvenor Street about 1am and a gold coloured Toyota Camry was seen fleeing the area.

A number of shots were also allegedly fired into a garage of a Corrigan Street address about 10.30am yesterday.

A man and a woman, both from Cheltenham, were arrested at a residence on Kavanagh Street in Cheltenham.

A search warrant was executed and three stolen motorcycles, three vehicles and three firearms, ammunition and firearm parts were seized.

A 39-year-old man has been charged with conduct endangering life, criminal damage, prohibited person possess firearm and other firearm related offences.

A 26-year-old woman was charged with possess a drug of dependence, possess ammunition and handle stolen goods.

They have both been remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning.
