Police Charge Two Men After Evade Incident

Two men have been charged following an evade incident in North West Tasmania this morning.

Police attempted to intercept the driver of a grey Mazda CX3, believed to be stolen, in Gilbert Street, Latrobe shortly after 9.00am.

Police will allege the driver then evaded between Latrobe and Deloraine before two people were taken into custody shortly after 10.00am.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

A 25-year-old man was charged with motor vehicle stealing, evading police (aggravated circumstances), driving while not the holder of a driver's licence, resisting a police officer and other drug-related offences. He has been detained to appear in court later today.

A 22-year-old man from Hadspen was charged with offences including motor vehicle stealing and drug-related offences. He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
