Police charge two men after road-rage incident at Fairfield

Police are investigating after two men were charged following a road-rage incident in Sydney's west overnight.

About 8.30pm (Friday 11 December 2020), officers attached to Fairfield Police Area Command were called to Alan Street, Fairfield, following reports a fight had broken out between the driver of a Toyota Hilux and the driver of a Toyota Camry.

Police have been told the driver of the Hilux ute had beeped his horn at driver of the sedan.

A short distance down the road, both cars pulled over and the sedan driver, aged 25, approached the ute and allegedly began hitting the vehicle with a spirit level.

A fight then broke out between the driver of the ute, aged 40, and sedan driver.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the men before they were arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

The younger man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and affray.

The older man was charged with destroy or damage property, and affray.

Both men were issued Court Attendance Notices (CAN) to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday 20 January 2021.

Inquiries are continuing.
