Police charge two over serious assault at Moss Vale

Two men have been charged over the serious assault of a man in Moss Vale last week.

About 10.30pm on Saturday 25 May 2019, a 30-year-old man was walking along Argyle Street, when he was approached by two men and assaulted.

The man began recording on his mobile phone and it's alleged he was punched and thrown to the ground before being kicked in the face.

The two men grabbed hold of the injured man until he deleted the recording.

A vehicle stopped nearby, and the injured man was able to run away and seek help, whilst the two men fled.

The 30-year-old man was taken to Bowral Hospital and later transferred to Liverpool Hospital where he underwent surgery for facial fractures.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives executed search warrants at a home in Moss Vale and a home in Bowral on Wednesday (29 May 2019). A number of items were seized and will be forensically examined.

Yesterday (Thursday 30 May 2019), two men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested when they attended Southern Highlands Police Station.

Both were charged with affray, cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent, take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage

The pair were granted strict conditional bail to appear at Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday 18 June 2019.
