Police charge two people after robbery of taxi driver - Miller

Police have charged a man and a woman after a taxi driver was robbed in Miller yesterday.

Police will allege in court that, two occupants of a home in Miller, called for a taxi about 11pm (Sunday 6 September 2020).

A 27-year-old taxi driver responded and attended Cartwright Avenue where a 34-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman entered the cab.

The man allegedly assaulted the driver and stolen an amount of cash from his pocket.

The driver managed to escape the taxi and ran to a nearby service station where he contacted police.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command responded and attended a home on Cartwright Avenue where they arrested a man and a woman.

The pair were taken to Liverpool Police Station where they were charged with robbery in company.

They were both refused bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court today (Monday 7 September 2020).
