Police charge two teens after men injured in knife attack - Mt Druitt

Two teens will face court after allegedly injuring two men were during an altercation at Mt Druitt yesterday.

About 1.45pm (Tuesday 10 November 2020), police were called to The Avenue, Mt Druitt, after reports of a stabbing.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended the location where they found a 23-year-old man, suffering a laceration to his forehead, and a 19-year-old man with lacerations to his hand.

They were treated at the scene before being taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition, where the younger man will require surgery.

A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced. A short time later police located the pair –aged 17 and 14 – in a unit block on The Avenue. They were arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

They have both been charged with reckless wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and affray.

The 17-year-old was refused bail and is expected to appear in a children's court today (Wednesday 11 November 2020).

The younger boy was granted conditional bail and is expected to appear in a children's court on Monday 23 November 2020.
