Police charge two with mid-range drink driving

Police yesterday charged two drivers with mid-range drink driving in the Bridgewater area.

A 63-year-old man was charged with mid-range drink driving following a crash at Bagdad. He returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.141. He was subsequently charged with exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit and driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor. He was detained for court.

A 28-year-old provisional licence holder was charged with a breath alcohol reading of 0.132 and was automatically disqualified from driving for a period of 12 months.

"It is disappointing to still see some drivers making the decision to place other people's lives at risk by driving after consuming alcohol," Acting Sergeant Petra Schnierer.
