A woman will face court charged after an investigation into an allegedly unprovoked assault in Sydney's northwest.

About 11am today (Saturday 3 January 2026), police were called to Fitzwilliam Street, Paramatta, after reports of an assault.

On arrival, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command were told three men – aged 24, 26 and 28 – were approached by an unknown woman who verbally abused them before allegedly throwing a cup of coffee at the group, striking a 26-year-old man in the leg.

The woman initially walked away but later returned, continuing to verbally abuse the men before allegedly pushing the 28-year-man in the chest and striking him in the face.

The woman left the scene, and none of the men sustained any injuries.

Following inquiries, a short time later, police arrested a 37-year-old woman at a licensed premises on Church Street, Parramatta.

She was taken to Parramatta Police Station and charged with three counts of common assault.

She was given conditional bail and will appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 11 February 2026.
