Police Charge Woman After Chadstone Suspicious Fire

Detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad have today charged a woman following a house fire in Chadstone in May.

A 37-year-old Chadstone woman was arrested this morning and has since been charged with two counts of attempted murder.

She was remanded into custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 18 July.

The charges follow an incident where emergency services were called to reports of the blaze at a two-storey address on Terrigal Street about 9.40pm on Wednesday, 21 May.

A 37-year-old woman and two girls, aged eight and ten, were conveyed to hospital in a critical condition.

A fourth occupant, a 36-year-old man, was not home at the time of the fire.
