Police charge woman after fatal hit and run - Lidcombe

A woman has been charged following a fatal hit and run crash at Lidcombe this week.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Harry Avenue and Maud Street about 4.45pm on Tuesday (7 May 2019), after a cyclist had been hit by a car.

The cyclist, a 66-year-old Neutral Bay man, died at the scene.

The car – now identified as a Toyota Corolla – allegedly failed to stop after the crash.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and with the assistance of the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced inquiries.

Just before 3.30pm yesterday (Friday 10 May 2019), a 47-year-old woman was arrested after attending Auburn Police Station.

She has been charged with fail to stop & assist after vehicle impact causing death, dangerous driving occasioning death-drive manner dangerous, and negligent driving (occasioning death).

The Lidcombe woman was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 11 May 2019).
