A woman has been charged over her alleged role in a home invasion in Sydney's west.
About 4am (Thursday 12 August 2021), police were called to a home on Fernlea Place, Canley Heights, following reports of a home invasion.
Police have been told three people allegedly forced entry into the house before one of them – a 34-year-old woman – was detained by a man who lived at the house. The others fled on foot.
The man was at home with a woman and two children at the time, no injuries were reported.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and arrested the woman. She was taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard for observation.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic police and detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
On Friday 13 August 2021, at Liverpool Hospital, the woman was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence–use violence, larceny, and use registrable vehicle not display authorised number plates.
During a bedside hearing she was formally refused bail and will next appear in Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday 13 October 2021.
Investigations are ongoing.
