Police charge woman after man stabbed at Wollongong

A woman has been charged after allegedly stabbing a man near Wollongong yesterday.

About 4.30pm (Tuesday 6 October 2020), emergency services were called to a unit on Johanson Crescent, Mangerton, following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers attached to Wollongong Police District found a 46-year-old man with stab wounds to his right thigh, arm and chest.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital in a critical condition.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested inside the unit and taken to Wollongong Police Station, where she was charged with two counts of wound person with intent cause grievous bodily harm, and breach apprehended domestic violence order.

She was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court today (Wednesday 7 October 2020).
