A woman will face court today following an alleged assault in Gilgandra earlier this month.
About 3am on Saturday 8 February 2020, a 33-year-old woman was allegedly hit in the face several times by a 35-year-old woman known to her on Mullion Street, Gilgandra, while she was waiting for a lift home.
The woman sought medical treatment from Gilgandra Hospital, before being transferred to Dubbo Base Hospital. Due to the significant injury to her eye, she was airlifted to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, police arrested the 35-year-old at a home at Dubbo, about 10.40am yesterday (Monday 24 February 2020).
She was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with inflict grievous bodily harm.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Tuesday 25 February 2020).
