Police charge woman over 340,000 fraud - New England

A woman will face court this month following an investigation into the alleged defrauding of over $340,000 in the state's north.

Detectives attached to New England Police District commenced an investigation in October 2022, after reports a woman allegedly defrauded a business between July 2019 and September 2022.

Following inquiries, a 47-year-old woman attended Moree Police Station about 3.20pm, on Sunday (9 July 2023).

The woman was charged with seven counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception and use false document to obtain financial advantage.

Police will allege in court that more than 200 fraudulent transactions were made, totalling more than $340,000.
