A woman has been charged following an alleged assault and kidnapping in the state's central west earlier this year.
About 1.30am on Thursday 15 May 2025, a 54-year-old man was sitting inside his sedan on Maxwell Avenue, Orange, when he was approached by three men.
Police were told the group threatened the man with a knife before they assaulted him and forced him in the back seat of the car.
The group entered the car and drove towards Wellington on Burrendong Way, before forcing the man to exit the car at Euchareena and driving off.
The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to hospital for further treatment. He has since been discharged.
About 6am, the same day, emergency services were called to Nanima Mission, Wellington, following reports of the sedan well alight.
NSW Fire and Rescue extinguished the blaze; however, it was destroyed.
Officers attached to Central West Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incidents under Strike Force Collingwood.
Following inquiries, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Currong Crescent, Orange, where multiple electronic items were located and seized.
A 43-year-old woman was arrested at a home and taken to Orange Police Station, where she was charged with kidnap in company with intent to commit serious indictable offence, occasioning actual bodily harm.
She was refused bail to appear before Orange Local Court on Thursday 28 August 2025.
Police will allege in court that the woman was involved in the planning and execution of the offence.
