Police charge woman with commercial drug supply at Wollongong

A woman has been charged with commercial drug supply following a strike force investigation in Wollongong.

Strike force Braky was formed by the Wollongong Police District Drug Unit in March 2020 to investigate the supply of Gamma Butrylactone (GBL) in the Wollongong area.

Following extensive inquiries, a Toyota Kluger was stopped by police on the M1 Motorway at Figtree about 8.30pm yesterday (Thursday 16 April 2020).

Following a search of the vehicle, investigators allegedly located and seized three glass bottles containing a clear glittery liquid and a glitter purse containing drug paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old woman, was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station.

Police will allege the woman has been supplying GBL throughout the Wollongong area.

The woman was charged with commercial drug supply and not comply with noticed direction.

She was refused bail and is due to face Wollongong Local Court today (Friday 17 April 2020).

The two female passengers were given warnings for not complying with a ministerial direction.
