Police charge woman with high-range drink driving - Campsie

A woman, allegedly driving her vehicle with a four-year-old passenger, has been charged with high-range drink-driving in Campsie overnight.

Officers from Campsie Proactive Crime Team noticed a silver BMW stopped on Evaline Street, Campsie, about 11.30pm (Monday 15 February 2021).

Officers approached the vehicle and noticed collision damage to the front. A woman, aged 45 was allegedly sitting in the driver's seat with a four-year-old boy seated in the back. The child had a bleeding nose.

The driver failed to provide a roadside breath sample and was subsequently arrested. She was taken to Campsie Police Station where she allegedly provided a breath analysis reading of 0.174.

She was charged with high-range drink driving and had her licence suspended.

She is due to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday 6 April 2021.

The child was taken to Canterbury Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics and police as a precaution. He is now in the care of his adult sister.
