Police charge woman with multiple fraud offences - Unanderra

A woman has been charged with multiple fraud offences south of Wollongong.

Police allege the woman supplied fraudulent medical certificates on four occasions excusing her from community services work.

The alleged forgeries were discovered earlier this month (Wednesday 6 November 2019) and reported to police.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District commenced an investigation.

About 1.30pm yesterday (Monday 11 November 2019), officers attached to Lake Illawarra Tech Crime and Anti-Theft Units executed a search warrant at a home on Central Avenue, Unanderra.

Officers located and seized a large number of bank cards in various names, blank driver licences, drugs, mobile phones, computers and a motorbike that was reported stolen in May 2019.

A 32-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where she was charged with four counts of make false document to influence exercise of public duty, four counts of use false document to influence exercise of public duty, deal with identification information, possession of identification information and possess prohibited drug.

The woman was refused bail and is due to face Wollongong Local Court today (Tuesday 12 November 2019).
