Police charge woman with murder - South Wentworthville

A woman has been charged with murder following an alleged domestic-related incident at a home in Sydney's west last month.

About 5pm on Sunday 17 November 2019, emergency services were called to a home on Alto Street, South Wentworthville, after reports a man was unresponsive.

The man was found suffering a stab wound to his chest and died at the scene.

He has been identified as 53-year-old Filipino National, Rhonie Apostol.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

A knife was seized at the scene and taken for forensic examination.

Strike Force Rofe was established by detectives from Cumberland Police Area Command, with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a unit on Rudd Road, Leumeah, about 8am today (Wednesday 11 December 2019).

A 43-year-old woman was arrested at the location and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

The woman, who is a Filipino National, was charged with murder (DV).

She was refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court today.
