Police concerned for man missing from Lake Illawarra region

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the Lake Illawarra region.

William Shearer, aged 50, was last seen at a home on Rhondda Street, Berkeley, about 11am yesterday (Friday 31 July 2020).

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District were later alerted when he failed to return home.

Despite an extensive search of the area and nearby bush land with the assistance of PolAir and the Dog Unit, he could not be located.

Concerns are held for his welfare and police are appealing for assistance from the community to locate him.

William is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm to 180cm tall, with a large build and grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt with distinctive black lobster motif, denim jeans, and dark work boots.

Anyone who sees William, or believes they know his whereabouts, is urged to contact police immediately.
