Police continue to search for Christopher Austin

Police continue to search for 22-year-old Christopher Austin who absconded from a residential treatment facility last night, Victoria Police say.

Christopher left the Fairfield facility about 11.30pm.

He is currently serving a five year residential placement order for sexual assault at the Disability Forensic Assessment and Treatment Service.

An image of Austin, who is described as Aboriginal in appearance, 166cm tall, medium build, short dark hair with a rat’s tail, has been released.

He also has two lines cut into his right eyebrow and dollar signs tattooed on his right leg and right middle finger.

Investigators received information that a man fitting his description was seen at 6am this morning in Kew East.

He was pushing a mountain bike along Main Yarra Trail near Willow Grove, wearing shorts and a jumper.

Anyone who sights Austin is urged not to approach him or anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
