Police employee charged with drink-driving

A civilian employee has been charged with drink-driving following a vehicle stop in Sydney's west.

About 12.40am yesterday (Sunday 18 October 2020), officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a Mitsubishi Mirage travelling on Great Western Highway, Parramatta, after it allegedly failed to stop at a red traffic light.

The driver, a 26-year-old woman, underwent a roadside breath test at the scene, which allegedly returned a positive result.

She was arrested and taken to Merrylands Police Station for a breath analysis test, which allegedly returned a result of 0.081.

The woman, who is attached to a command in the South West Metropolitan Region, was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with mid-range PCA and not stop at red light.

She is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 3 November 2020. Her driver's licence has been suspended.
