Police Hunt Clues to ID Man After Illawarra Bridge Vandalism

Police are appealing for information to identify a man as inquiries continue into the graffitiing of a bridge during a protest in the Illawarra at the weekend.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District were told the bridge was graffitied between 1pm and 3.15pm last Sunday (7 December 2025), at the same time as an authorised protest was being managed between Coalcliff and Clifton. The graffiti has since been removed.

Police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He's described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged 25 to 30, with brown hair, blue or green eyes and at the time was wearing green and black headscarf, black t shirt and beige cargo pants.
