Police Hunt for Leads in Tuggerah Lakes Stabbing

Detectives are appealing for information after a cyclist was stabbed on the Central Coast at the weekend.

About 7.30pm on Sunday 24 August 2025, emergency services were called to Candlewood Close, Kanwal, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and were told a 25-year-old man was stabbed while riding his bike on nearby Deerwood Street.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a stab wound to the back, before being taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced by detectives attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District.

Police are investigating links between the incident and an altercation between a group of males at the intersection of Deerwood Street and Walker Avenue at Kanwal.
