Police are searching for a man who allegedly approached a girl in Tarrawanna on Thursday afternoon.
About 5.15pm, an 11-year-old girl was riding a bike east along Caldwell Avenue when she noticed a man, driving a black van, following her, police say.
“She believes he may have been taking pictures as she saw a flash go off from inside the vehicle”.
The girl continued riding, crossing the road and entering a reserve. The van drove away and the girl rode directly home and told her parents who contacted police.
Police spoke with the girl and conducted a search of the area.
The man has been described to police as having a black beard and wearing a black beanie. The vehicle has been described as a black van with dark tinted windows.
Police have been reported three other child approach incidents since April 28.
Police did not say whether they're treating the incidents as related, but they are advising parents to re-enforce safety messages with their children to make sure they use caution and alert people around when a person they don’t know approaches them.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/
