Police identify pedestrian struck in Wyndham Vale

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have identified a man who was struck and killed by a car in Wyndham Vale last night.

It is believed a silver Hyundai hatchback travelling on Armstrong Road struck the man near the intersection of Greens Road about 10.40pm.

The pedestrian, a 25-year-old Wyndham Vale man, died at the scene.

The driver, a 36-year-old Werribee woman, has been released pending further enquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined.

Investigators are keen to speak to anyone that may have seen the man in the area around the time of the incident or in the hours leading up to it.
