Police incident, Gold Coast

The Ethical Standards Command is investigating an incident involving a vehicle on the Gold Coast late this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

At 4.50pm, police attempted to intercept a vehicle at a shopping centre in Coomera.

Preliminary inquiries suggest the vehicle was deliberately driven towards two police vehicles.

During the course of the incident, shots were fired by police.

At this stage, it doesn’t appear as though anyone has been physically injured.

Two police vehicles were damaged in the process.

Two people have been taken into custody and are currently assisting police with their investigation.
