Police interviewing a man following fatal hit run at South Geelong

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are currently interviewing a man following a fatal hit-run in South Geelong this morning, Victoria Police say.

A Lovely Banks man presented himself to a police station this evening.

A man was located with life threatening injuries in Yarra Street near the intersection of Verner Street about 3.15am.

It is alleged he was struck by a vehicle that stopped at the scene but then drove off.

The victim, a 32-year-old South Geelong man died at the scene.

The 27-year-old man is currently assisting police with their enquiries and no charges have been laid at this stage.
