Police investigate a series of burglaries and thefts in CBD

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating five incidents in the Melbourne CBD since June, Victoria Police say.

The first incident was on 19 June about 9.40pm, a man entered an office via an open window on Rosslyn Street and stole an envelope containing foreign currency.

The second incident on 20 June, a man used a brick to smash a security camera and window of a building on Spencer Street about 10.30pm.

An alarm went off and the offender fled on foot.

The third incident was on 3 July about 2.30am, a man used a brick to smash the window of a business on Leveson Street but fled empty handed.

The fourth incident was also on 3 July about 3.20am on Frederick Way, a man kicked in a window at a business and stole a cash register containing cash.

The final incident was on 7July about 1pm on Spring Street, a man stole a bicycle from an underground carpark.

The same male is believed to have been involved in all five incidents and is described as Caucasian, aged 30-40-years-old, thin build and was wearing a baseball cap, black hooded jacket and jeans.

Investigators have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
