Police investigate after man seriously assaulted - Wentworth Point

Police are investigating after a man was found suffering serious head injuries in Sydney's west overnight.

Just before 8.30pm (Wednesday 12 June 2019), emergency services were called to a unit complex on Marine Parade at Wentworth Point, after reports a man had been shot.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and found a 53-year-old man suffering serious head and facial injuries.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition, with blunt force injuries to his head.

A crime scene was established at the unit and inquiries suggest the assault occurred nearby in Hill Road and a second crime scene was established. Both have been forensically examined.
