Police investigate after pedestrian hit by car at bus stop - Ponds

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a car as he stood at a bus stop in Sydney's north west today.

Just after 2:30pm (Friday 29 March 2019), emergency services were called to the Stanhope Parkway, The Ponds, after reports a man had been hit by a Ford Focus while he was waiting for a bus near Warbler Street, The Ponds.

A 72-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver, a 47-year-old man from The Ponds, was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing and is assisting police with inquiries.

Officers from Quakers Hills Police Area Command, together with officers from Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and have commenced inquiries.
