Police investigate alleged assault in Hobart, TAS

Tasmania Police is investigating an alleged assault on Hobart’s waterfront about 4.35pm today involving a 59 year old man from NSW, Tasmania Police say.

Tasmania Police contacted the alleged victim after becoming aware of the claims and the man has tonight made a formal complaint.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, which occurred on the footpath in Morrison St opposite Custom’s House Hotel.

The man was allegedly approached by another male person, who headbutted him to the face.

The man received minor injuries and did not require medical assistance.

Police would particularly like to hear from the other man who was allegedly involved in the incident and have urged him to come forward and contact police.

Anyone with information about the alleged incident should contact Tasmania Police on 131444 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
