Police investigate armed robberies at Morayfield and Caboolture

Police investigating two armed robberies involving a firearm that occurred about an hour apart in the Moreton Bay area last night believe they are linked.

Around 7.40pm (Friday, May 28) a man entered a service station located off the Bruce Highway at Morayfield and produced a firearm, demanding money.

He fled on foot after stealing a sum of cash.

At 8.30pm a man entered a convenience store on Morayfield Road, Caboolture South, producing a firearm before stealing cash, cigarettes and tobacco.

He again fled on foot and was last seen heading north.

No one was physically injured in the robberies.

Multiple police unit attended the incidents, including general duty officers, detectives and the dog squad with cordons established however the man was not located.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, or relevant CCTV or dash cam footage from the area to contact them.
