Police investigate armed robbery - Arncliffe

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Sydney's south overnight.

Just before 1am (Sunday 4 August 2019), employees of a registered club at Arncliffe, were making their way to their nearby vehicles after locking up, when they were approached by two men and threatened.

The men - one armed with a firearm – stole a backpack from one of the employees, before demanding the keys to the club.

The duo fled with the property and got in a waiting silver Ford Falcon station wagon, driven by a third man. The vehicle drove off, travelling north-east on Arncliffe Street, towards Wolli Creek.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

As inquiries continue, investigators would like to speak to three men who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The men are described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance and aged in their 20s. They were wearing dark coloured hooded jumpers and masks to cover their faces.

Entry was not gained to the club and the employees were not physically injured during the incident.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
