Police investigate armed robbery at East Brisbane

A man has been charged following investigations into an armed robbery in East Brisbane last night.

At 7.40pm, a man entered a service station on Stanley Street, allegedly armed with a knife and demanded money.

The attendant complied with the demand and the man then left the store with a sum of cash and goods from the business.

Officers later attended an East Brisbane address where they took a man into custody.

Police will further allege the man became aggressive while being transported to the watchhouse.

A 26-year-old East Brisbane man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, enter premise with intent, serious assault police and assault police.

He is scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
