Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Ravenshoe

Detectives from the Tablelands Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged a 24-year-old Dimbulah man following an armed robbery at a Grigg Street business yesterday, 28 August.

It will be alleged around 6.20pm, the man entered a store armed with a tomahawk axe and demanded cash from an employee.

The man allegedly damaged a counter and the till before fleeing on foot with a quantity of cash.

No one was physically injured.

Officers arrested the man at an Atherton address this morning, 29 July.

He was charged with one count each of robbery and wilful damage.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court tomorrow, 30 August.
