Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Roma

Police have charged a 28-year-old man following investigations into an armed robbery in Roma on 31 August.

It will be alleged around 5.20pm two men approached a 2001 white BMW parked on Bungil Street.

The pair then allegedly threatened the driver with a knife demanding he hand over his keys, phone and wallet.

It is alleged one of the offenders then physically assaulted the driver striking him in the head before both then left the scene in the victim's vehicle.

The driver, a 22-year-old Roma man, received minor injuries.

Around 9.20pm police located the stolen vehicle on the Condamine Highway at Condamine taking a 28-year-old Roma man into custody.

He has been charged with one count each of armed robbery in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving and two counts each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and evade police.

He is expected to appear before the Dalby Magistrates Court today,1 September.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a second male accomplice.

He is described as approximately 175cm tall with a slender build and brown complexion with a dark mullet style haircut.
