Police investigate armed robbery by man in superhero costume - South Coast

Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged armed robbery by a man in a superhero costume on the state's south coast.

Shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Thursday 5 September), an unknown male attended a commercial premises in Batehaven.

The man allegedly produced a firearm before demanding cash from two male employees.

The alleged offender then demanded the two employees leave the store, before taking an amount of cash and fleeing on foot along Corrigan Crescent.

No one was injured during the incident.

The man is described as 155-180cm tall and was wearing a Captain America costume at the time of the alleged offence.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Batemans Bay police on (02) 4472 0099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police inquiries are continuing.
