Police investigate armed robbery – Mowbray bank, TAS

Launceston CIB is investigating an armed robbery at the ANZ Bank, Mowbray, this afternoon, Tasmania Police say.

Police were called to the bank, in Invermay Road, about 1.55pm today.

Police allege a man entered the bank armed with a knife and demanded cash from a teller and a customer.

The offender left the premises with a quantity of cash. No one was physically injured during the incident.

The offender left the scene on foot and was last seen in the area of the Mowbray Marketplace shopping centre.

Detectives are following a particular line of inquiry and investigations are continuing.
