Police investigate armed robbery outside pizza shop at Wagga Wagga

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Wagga Wagga overnight.

About 10.50pm yesterday (Monday 6 January 2020), a pizza shop delivery driver was returning to his workplace on Baylis Street, Wagga Wagga, when he was allegedly approached by an unknown man.

The man allegedly threatened the driver with a knife and demanded cash, before punching him in the head.

The driver complied and the man fled the scene on foot with a small bag of cash.

Officers from Riverina Police District attended and have since commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The driver sustained minor grazes and a bruised lip as a result of the alleged assault and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.
